Some modern motorsport circuit designs result in a lack of corner variance for drivers. Any new kart circuit should not just provide excitement for a driver but also a physical, technical and mental challenge. Clean and close racing should be encouraged with the track topography and geometry enhanced to encourage clean, yet safe and exciting overtaking. The Iceland MotoPark kart circuit offers all of the above over its 1.2km length.

Safety is a primary consideration for any new motor racing circuit and the design of this new facility has had CiK-FIA simulation analysis. Moreover, all the run-off requirements have been equalled or exceeded with the input of Laurent Arnaud, Engineer, Head of the CiK-FIA Technical Department and by Apex to accommodate the needs of corporate and leisure karting.

The Apex design philosophy for the Iceland MotoPark kart circuit has been to coordinate the thoughts of the client, the Icelandic kart and racing driver Viktor Jensen, teams and the CiK-FIA into a sequence of undulating corners and straights that should provide good racing, good spectating and safe use for drivers of all abilities.
